ALADZHALOV MANUIL KHRISTOFOROVICH.
1862-1934
Painter. Studied at the School of Painting,
Sculpture and Architecture In Moscow (1883-1890), attending classes of I.I.
Levitan, V.Ye. Makovsky and Ä.Ê. Savrasov. Founding member of the Union of
Russian Artists which appeared in 1903. Showed his works at exhibitions of the
Moscow Society of Lovers of Art, the Society of Travelling Art Exhibitions (Peredvlzhniks),
Thirty-Six Artists, the Union of Russian Artists, the Moscow Society of Artists,
the World of Art, the Association of Realist Artists, and the Fire-Colour.
Painted: "Towards Spring" (1900), "Winter in the Countryside",
"Moonlit Night. Winter" and "Kostroma Plyos" (1910), and
other pictures. His works are preserved in the Tretyakov Art Gallery, In the
picture gallery in Armenia and in other museums In the country. On display In
the gallery:
"Spring in the Countryside (shown at the Perestrolka Exhibition In Rome In
1989, In the Tretyakov Art Gallery in 1989 and at an exhibition arranged by the
Combined Art Studios in Khimki In 1990);
"Spring. The Black River" and "On the Volga (both shown at the
Russian Landscape Exhibition In Moscow In 1988, In the Tretyakov Art Gallery In
1989 and at an exhibition arranged by the Combined Art Studios In Khimki in
1990);
"The Edge of the Village" (shown In the Tretyakov Art Gallery In 1989,
and at an exhibition arranged by the Combined Art Studios In Khimki In 1990),
and the sketch "In the Graveyard (shown at the exhibition of works of
Russian and Soviet artists from Prof. S.N. Gorshln's collection In Mogilev In
1990).
